TOWN OF STONY PLAIN OFF-SITE LEVY OPEN HOUSE
The Town of Stony Plain is inviting interested parties to attend an open house on changes to its off-site levies on TUESDAY, April 13, 2021 at 4:00 p.m.
Purpose of the Off-site Levy Open House
To obtain input from the community on proposed changes to the Town’s off-site levies.
Off-site levies are a charge collected to build new infrastructure outside or “off” a development site that is required to serve new developments and support growth. The Municipal Government Act and Town of Stony Plain Off-site Levy Bylaw (2594/D&P/18) give authority to collect this charge and identify the parameters when off-site levies apply to a subdivision or development.
Municipalities are required to consult individuals who may be affected when changing the methodology on which the levy is based or how the levy is calculated.
Input gathered during this open house will be considered for the final changes to the new Off-site Levy Bylaw that will be recommended to Council later this year.
Open House Participation
The open house will be conducted electronically using the Microsoft Teams Platform. Members of the public wishing to attend the open house should contact Brett Newstead by calling 780-963-8028 or emailing firstname.lastname@example.org to receive an invite containing the meeting details. This process will ensure attendees have the necessary information to participate in the open house.
